KUALA LUMPUR — In an emotional continuation of theatrical heritage, accomplished performing artist Mila Mohsin has been announced as the second Gusti Putri Retno Dumilah in Enfiniti’s dual-cast staging of Puteri Gunung Ledang The Musical 2026.

The daughter of original Gusti Putri and director Puan Sri Tiara Jacquelina, Mila brings an extensive pedigree in physical theatre, contemporary movement, and stage acting. While public discussion naturally touched on the familial connection, both the production panel and industry peers emphasised that Mila underwent the exact same rigorous, multi-round blind adjudication process as every other contender.

A Vision of Grace, Discipline, and Fire

Speaking candidly with national media, Mila addressed the monumental weight and honour of carrying forward a role so deeply woven into her family’s history.

“I have witnessed the sweat, discipline, and sacrifices that went into building Puteri Gunung Ledang since I was a child,” Mila stated. “I knew that stepping forward for this audition meant holding myself to the highest standard possible. I didn’t take this role because of who my mother is; I fought for it because I believe with every fibre of my being in the nobility and resilience of Gusti Putri. My focus is entirely on delivering a performance that does justice to our culture and our audience.”
